The Bald Head Island Club is best known for its world class golf course, designed by George Cobb and opened for play in 1974. This beautiful course was recently restored by Tim Cate, who breathed new life into the tired layout, making it much more aesthetically pleasing. The 18-hole course can be challenging, but more importantly, it offers the player an insider’s view of the Island. It’s not rare to see a gator sunning itself, ospreys flying overhead, or egrets, fox, and deer running across the fairway. The complex includes an extensive practice facility and a full-service golf shop offering apparel, equipment, and much more. The club’s professional golf staff also offers private lessons, clinics, and activities year round.
